A yeast infection may also be called Candidiasis and for many women who suffer with vaginal yeast infection bumps it can be uncomfortable and embarrassing. Symptoms vary from person to person but can include redness, pain when having sex and when urinating, a white thick discharge, a beer odor, itching, swelling and yeast infection bumps. For patients in hospital with compromised immune systems a yeast infection of it becomes systemic can even be fatal. Though particularly common in women, it can affect men also, and can occur anywhere on the body, under arms, on the skin, in the mouth, the penis as well as the vagina. There are some things you can do at home to help clear up those yeast infection bumps.
Washing frequently is very important but make sure you use soaps that are not going to worsen the yeast infection bumps. Harsh chemicals, scented products are both causes of skin irritation so use mild unscented soap. After you have cleaned yourself you need to also dry off thoroughly. Fungi thrive in environments that are warm and moist, it is why the vagina is so prone to infection. Keeping the area clean and dry is a big step to treating and preventing yeast infection bumps.
When you use the toilet you need to wipe yourself correctly. Back to front will bring bacteria and fungus from the anus to the vagina and causes infection. Wipe front to back every time.
If you use lubrication during sex make sure it is a water soluble lubricating gel not oil based. These can cause irritation and make the yeast infection bumps worse. If you are suffering discomfort during sex because of dryness either stop having sex or use lubrication to avoid damage being caused to the vagina, which can also cause a yeast infection.
Other contraceptive options can also be causing the yeast infection bumps. The pill changes your hormone levels and the imbalance can cause a yeast infection. Devices that you insert can also be the cause of infection. Abstain until treatment has been successful or use a condom.
